Chapter 45: The Brāhmaṇas from Ayodhyā Follow Rāma
Text 2.45.16

धर्मतः स विशुद्धात्मा वीरः शुभदृढव्रतः।
उप वाह्यस्तु वो भर्ता नापवाह्यः पुराद्वनम्॥

dharmataḥ sa viśuddhātmā vīraḥ śubha-dṛḍha-vrataḥ
upa vāhyas tu vo bhartā nāpavāhyaḥ purād vanam

dharmataḥ = is naturally; saḥ = He; viśuddha-ātmā = a pure soul; vīraḥ = a hero; śubha-dṛḍha-vrataḥ = firmly fixed in auspicious vows; upa = to the city; vāhyaḥ tu = bring; vaḥ = your; bhartā = maintainer; na apavāhyaḥ = don’t take Him away; purāt = from the city; vanam = to the forest.

He is naturally a pure soul, a hero firmly fixed in auspicious vows. Bring your maintainer to the city. Don’t take Him away from the city to the forest.
