Chapter 49: Rāma Continues on Towards the Forest
Text 2.49.2

तथैव गच्छतस्तस्य व्यपायाद्रजनी शिवा।
उपास्य स शिवां सन्ध्यां विषयान्तं व्यगाहत॥

tathaiva gacchatas tasya vyapāyād rajanī śivā
upāsya sa śivāṁ sandhyāṁ viṣayāntāṁ vyagāhata

tathā eva = in this manner; gacchataḥ = traveled on; tasya = while He; vyapāyāt = passed; rajanī = night; śivā = the auspicious; upāsya = then performed and; saḥ = He; śivām = the sacred; sandhyām = sandhyā-vandana; viṣaya-antām = the end of the kingdom; vyagāhata = reached.

The auspicious night passed while He traveled on in this manner. Then He performed the sacred sandhyā-vandana and reached the end of the kingdom.

Rāmacandra reached the end of the kingdom, that is, the southern border of Uttara Kosala (North Kosala).
