Text 2.63.49
दुःखितस्य च दीनस्य मम शोकातुरस्य च।
लक्षयामास हृदये चिन्तां मुनिसुतस्तदा॥
duḥkhitasya ca dīnasya mama śokāturasya ca
lakṣayām āsa hṛdaye cintāṁ muni-sutas tadā
duḥkhitasya = I was in distress; ca = and; dīnasya = morose; mama śoka-āturasya ca = overwhelmed by misery and lamentation; lakṣayām āsa = detected; hṛdaye = in my heart; cintām = that thought; muni-sutaḥ = the son of the sage; tadā = at that time.
At that time I was in distress and morose, overwhelmed by misery and lamentation. The son of the sage detected that thought in my heart.
Daśaratha was in distress, thinking that he had performed a greatly forbidden activity. He was tormented by lamentation in fear that he would become the killer of a brāhmaṇa.
