Chapter 65: Daśaratha’s Wives Lament About his Departure
Text 2.65.11
तत्तु सूर्योदयं यावत्सर्वं परिसमुत्सुकम्।
तस्थावनुपसंप्राप्तं किंस्विदित्युपशङ्कितम्॥
tat tu sūryodayaṁ yāvat sarvaṁ parisamutsukam
tasthāv anupasamprāptaṁ kiṁ svid ity upaśaṅkitam
tat tu = of them; sūrya-udayam = before sunrise; yāvat = until; sarvam = all; parisamutsukam = eagerly waited to serve the king; tasthau = they became; anupasamprāptam = when he did not wake up; kim svit iti = and wondered, “what happened”; upaśaṅkitam = apprehensive.
All of them eagerly waited to serve the king before sunrise. When he did not wake up, they became apprehensive and wondered, “What happened?”
They became apprehensive while thinking about what had happened to the king that he had not woken up.
