अथ याः कोसलेन्द्रस्य शयनं प्रत्यनन्तराः।
ताः स्त्रियस्तु समागम्य भर्तारं प्रत्यबोधयन्॥
atha yāḥ kosalendrasya śayanaṁ pratyanantarāḥ
tāḥ striyas tu samāgamya bhartāraṁ pratyabodhayan
atha = then; yāḥ1 kosala-indrasya = of the King of Kosala; śayanam pratyanantarāḥ = near the bed; tāḥ striyaḥ tu = the wives; samāgamya = approached; bhartāram = their husband; pratyabodhayan = and tried to wake him up.
Then the wives of the King of Kosala near the bed approached their husband and tried to wake him up.
1 Technical note: yāḥ pratyanantarāḥ.
These are wives other than Kausalyā and Sumitrā. They tried to wake him up by speaking appropriate, humble and gentle words.
