Chapter 66: Daśaratha’s Ministers Preserve his Body

ता बाष्पेण च संवीताः शोकेन विपुलेन च।
व्यवेष्टन्त निरानन्दा राघवस्य वरस्त्रियः॥
tā bāṣpeṇa ca saṁvītāḥ śokena vipulena ca
vyaveṣṭanta nirānandā rāghavasya vara-striyaḥ
tāḥ1 bāṣpeṇa ca = with tears; saṁvītāḥ = filled; śokena = lamentation; vipulena ca = in great; vyaveṣṭanta = writhed; nirānandāḥ = the unhappy; rāghavasya = of Daśaratha, the descendant of Raghu; vara-striyaḥ = the queens.
Filled with tears, the unhappy queens of Daśaratha, the descendant of Raghu, writhed in great lamentation.
