Chapter 75: Bharata’s Conversation with Kausalyā-devī
Text 2.75.43
उभे सन्ध्ये शयानस्य यत्पापं परिकल्प्यते।
तच्च पापं भवेत्तस्य यस्यार्योऽनुमते गतः॥
ubhe sandhye śayānasya yat pāpaṁ parikalpyate
tac ca pāpaṁ bhavet tasya yasyāryo ’numate gataḥ
ubhe sandhye = at dawn and dusk; śayānasya = to him who sleeps; yat pāpam = that; parikalpyate = accrues; tat ca = the; pāpam = sinful reaction; bhavet = may belong; tasya = to him; yasya = whose; āryaḥ = noble Rāma; anumate = with consent; gataḥ = has departed [to the forest].
May the sinful reaction that accrues to him who sleeps at dawn and dusk belong to him with whose consent noble Rāma has departed [to the forest].
