दिष्ट्या न चलितो धर्मादात्मा ते सहलक्ष्मणः।
वत्स सत्यप्रतिज्ञो मे सतां लोकानवाप्स्यसि॥
diṣṭyā na calito dharmād ātmā te saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ
vatsa satya-pratijño me satāṁ lokān avāpsyasi
diṣṭyā = it is by good fortune that; na = not; calitaḥ = has deviated; dharmāt = from the dharma of obediently following Your elder brother; ātmā = mind; te = Your; saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ = like Lakṣmaṇa; vatsa = dear child; satya-pratijñaḥ = You are true to Your promises; me = to me; satām = of the saintly; lokān = the worlds; avāpsyasi = therefore You will attain.
It is by good fortune that Your mind has not deviated from the dharma of obediently following Your elder brother. Dear child, like Lakṣmaṇa, You are true to Your promises to me. Therefore You will attain the worlds of the saintly.
