Chapter 75: Bharata’s Conversation with Kausalyā-devī
Text 2.75.63
एवं विलपमानस्य दुःखार्तस्य महात्मनः।
मोहाच्च शोकसंरोधाद्बभूव लुलितं मनः॥
evaṁ vilapamānasya duḥkhārtasya mahātmanaḥ
mohāc ca śoka-saṁrodhād babhūva lulitaṁ manaḥ
evam = in this manner; vilapamānasya = while lamenting; duḥkha-ārtasya = was tormented by pain; mahā-ātmanaḥ = the great soul Bharata; mohāt ca = due to perplexity; śoka-saṁrodhāt = hindered by sorrow; babhūva = became; lulitam = agitated; manaḥ = His mind.
The great soul Bharata was tormented by pain while lamenting in this manner. Hindered by sorrow, His mind became agitated due to perplexity.
Bharata had lamented by uttering those curses.
