आज्ञाप्याथ यथाज्ञप्ति युक्तास्तेऽधिकृता नराः।
रमणीयेषु देशेषु बहुस्वादुफलेषु च॥
यो निवेशस्त्वभिप्रेतो भरतस्य महात्मनः।
भूयस्तं शोभयामासुर्भूषाभिर्भूषणोपमम्॥
ājñāpyātha yathājñapti yuktās te ’dhikṛtā narāḥ
ramaṇiyeṣu deśeṣu bahu-svādu-phaleṣu ca
yo niveśas tv abhipreto bharatasya mahātmanaḥ
bhūyas taṁ śobhayām āsur bhūṣābhir bhūṣaṇopamam
ājñāpya atha = after the route was constructed; yathā-ājñapti = to the best of their ability; yuktāḥ te adhikṛtāḥ narāḥ = officers appointed for constructing residential facilities on the route; ramaṇiyeṣu = in pleasant; deśeṣu = spots; bahu-svādu-phaleṣu ca = were [trees with] many tasty fruits [grew]; yaḥ niveśaḥ tu = an accommodation; abhipretaḥ = agreeable; bharatasya = to Bharata; mahā-ātmanaḥ = the great soul; bhūyaḥ tam śobhayām āsuḥ = it was even more beautiful; bhūṣābhiḥ = with ornamentation such as canopies with golden pots [on top of them] and flags; bhūṣaṇa-upamam = decorating them.
After the route was constructed, officers appointed for constructing residential facilities on the route constructed, to the best of their ability, an accommodation agreeable to the great soul Bharata in pleasant spots where [trees with] many tasty fruits [grew] decorating them. With ornamentation such as canopies with golden pots [on top of them] and flags, it was even more beautiful.
