बहुपांसुचयाश्चापि परिखापरिवारिताः।
तत्रेन्द्रकीलप्रतिमाः प्रतोलीवरशोभिताः॥
प्रासादमालावितताः सौधप्राकारसंवृताः।
पताकाशोभिताः सर्वे सुनिर्मितमहापथाः॥
विसर्पद्भिरिवाकाशे विटङ्काग्रविमानकैः।
समुच्छ्रितैर्निवेशास्ते बभुः शक्रपुरोपमाः॥
bahu-pāṁsu-cayāś cāpi parikhā-parivāritāḥ
tatrendra-kīla-pratimāḥ pratolī-vara-śobhitāḥ
prāsāda-mālā-vitatāḥ saudha-prākāra-saṁvṛtāḥ
patākā-śobhitāḥ sarve sunirmita-mahā-pathāḥ
visarpadbhir ivākāśe viṭaṅkāgra-vimānakaiḥ
samucchritair niveśās te babhuḥ śakra-puropamāḥ
bahu-pāṁsu-cayāḥ ca api = were constructed out of fine sand; parikhā-parivāritāḥ = they were surrounded by moats; tatra = on the routes; indra-kīla-pratimāḥ = they resembled the Mandara mountain; pratolī-vara-śobhitāḥ = they were graceful with excellent streets 10; prāsāda-mālā-vitatāḥ = and covered with temples 11; saudha-prākāra-saṁvṛtāḥ = they were enclosed by whitewashed palatial walls; patākā-śobhitāḥ = adorned with flags; sarve = all of them; sunirmita-mahā-pathāḥ = had very nicely constructed wide roads; visarpadbhiḥ iva = that appeared to fly; ākāśe = in the sky; viṭaṅka-agra-vimānakaiḥ = seven-storied towers whose tips had dovecotes 12; samucchritaiḥ = with tall; niveśāḥ = the residential quarters; te = they were; babhuḥ = beautiful; śakra-pura-upamāḥ = like the city of Indra.
The residential quarters on the routes were constructed out of fine sand. They were surrounded by moats. They resembled the Mandara mountain. They were graceful with excellent streets and covered with strings of temples. They were enclosed by whitewashed palatial walls. All of them had very nicely constructed wide roads adorned with flags. With tall seven-storied mansions whose tips had dovecotes that appeared to fly in the sky, they were beautiful like the city of Indra.
