Chapter 87: Further Conversation Between Bharata and Guha
Text 2.87.6

ततः सर्वाः समापेतुर्मातरो भरतस्य ताः।
उपवासकृशा दीना भर्तुर्व्यसनकर्शिताः॥

tataḥ sarvāḥ samāpetur mātaro bharatasya tāḥ
upavāsa-kṛśā dīnā bhartur vyasana-karśitāḥ

tataḥ = then; sarvāḥ = all; samāpetuḥ = arrived; mātaraḥ = the mothers; bharatasya = of Bharata; tāḥ = they; upavāsa-kṛśāḥ = had become thin due to fasting; dīnāḥ = and were morose; bhartuḥ vyasana-karśitāḥ = they had become emaciated due to their husband’s calamity.

Then all the mothers of Bharata arrived. They had become thin due to fasting and were morose. They had become emaciated due to their husband’s calamity.
