Chapter 87: Further Conversation Between Bharata and Guha
Text 2.87.12
स मुहूर्तं समाश्वस्य रुदन्नेव महायशाः।
कौसल्यां परिसान्त्व्येदं गुहं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
sa muhūrtaṁ samāśvasya rudann eva mahā-yaśāḥ
kausalyāṁ parisāntvyedaṁ guhaṁ vacanam abravīt
saḥ = the; muhūrtam = after a while; samāśvasya = consoling; rudan eva = weeped while; mahā-yaśāḥ = the greatly illustrious Bharata; kausalyām = Kausalyā; parisāntvya = He comforted [her]; idam = the following; guham = to Guha; vacanam = words; abravīt = and spoke.
The greatly illustrious Bharata weeped while consoling Kausalyā. After a while, He comforted [her] and spoke the following words to Guha.
Bharata consoled her by saying, “What you had feared will not happen.”
