Text 2.99.39

बाष्पापिहितकण्ठश्च प्रेक्ष्य रामं यशस्विनम्।
आर्येत्येवाथ संक्रुश्य व्याहर्तुं नाशकत्तदा॥

bāṣpāpihita-kaṇṭhaś ca prekṣya rāmaṁ yaśasvinam
āryety evātha saṅkruśya vyāhartuṁ nāśakat tadā

bāṣpa-apihita-kaṇṭhaḥ ca = Bharata’s throat choked with tears; prekṣya = upon seeing; rāmam = Rāma; yaśasvinam = the illustrious; ārya iti = O noble one; eva = only; atha saṅkruśya = He could cry out; vyāhartum = to utter anything else; na aśakat = He was unable; tadā = at that time.

Upon seeing the illustrious Rāma, Bharata’s throat choked with tears. At that time He could only cry out “O noble one!” He was unable to utter anything else.

Bharata couldn’t speak anything because His throat was choked with tears.
