Chapter 102: Rāma Performs Śrāddha for King Daśaratha
Text 2.102.12
समाप्तवनवासं मामयोध्यायां परंतप।
कोऽनु शासिष्यति पुनस्ताते लोकान्तरं गते॥
samāpta-vana-vāsaṁ mām ayodhyāyāṁ parantapa
ko ’nu śāsiṣyati punas tāte lokāntaraṁ gate
samāpta-vana-vāsam = after I complete My residence in the forest; mām = Me; ayodhyāyām = in Ayodhyā; parantapa = O scorcher of enemies; kaḥ = who; anu śāsiṣyati = will engage in [My] duties; punaḥ = again; tāte = now that Our father; loka-antaram = to another world; gate = has departed.
O scorcher of enemies, now that Our father has departed to another world, who will again engage Me in [My] duties in Ayodhyā after I complete My residence in the forest?
