Chapter 102: Rāma Performs Śrāddha for King Daśaratha
Text 2.102.13
पुरा प्रेक्ष्य सुवृत्तं मां पिता यान्याह सान्त्वयन्।
वाक्यानि तानि श्रोष्यामि कुतः कर्णसुखान्यहम्॥
purā prekṣya suvṛttaṁ māṁ pitā yāny āha sāntvayan
vākyāni tāni śroṣyāmi kutaḥ karṇa-sukhāny aham
purā = in the past; prekṣya = when he saw; suvṛttam = nicely carry out [his] orders; mām = Me; pitā = by Our father; yāni1 āha = spoken; sāntvayan = of appeasement; vākyāni = words; tāni = those; śroṣyāmi = can hear; kutaḥ = from whom; karṇa-sukhāni = so pleasing to My ears; aham = I.
From whom can I hear those words of appeasement so pleasing to My ears spoken by Our father when he saw Me nicely carry out [his] orders in the past?
