Text 2.114.13

संमूढनिगमां सर्वां संक्षिप्तविपणापणाम्।
प्रच्छन्नशशिनक्षत्रां द्यामिवाम्बुधरैर्वृताम्॥

sammūḍha-nigamāṁ sarvāṁ saṅkṣipta-vipaṇāpaṇām
pracchanna-śaśi-nakṣatrāṁ dyām ivāmbudharair vṛtām

sammūḍha-nigamām sarvām = nobody passed through Ayodhyā’s roads 1; saṅkṣipta-vipaṇa-āpaṇām = the sales in its shops had reduced and the markets had shrunk in size; pracchanna-śaśi-nakṣatrām = that had made the moon and the stars invisible; dyām = the sky; iva = Ayodhyā resembled; ambudharaiḥ = with clouds; vṛtām = covered.

Nobody passed through Ayodhyā’s roads. The sales in its shops had reduced and the markets had shrunk in size. Ayodhyā resembled the sky covered with clouds that had made the moon and the stars invisible.
