Chapter 114: Ayodhyā’s loss of Splendor

बहिर्यात्रां न गच्छन्ति चित्रमाल्यधरा नराः।
नोत्सवाः संप्रवर्तन्ते रामशोकार्दिते पुरे॥
bahir yātrāṁ na gacchanti citra-mālyadharā narāḥ
notsavāḥ sampravartante rāma-śokārdite pure
bahiḥ yātrām = out; na = not; gacchanti = are going; citra-mālyadharāḥ = wearing colourful garlands; narāḥ = men; na = not; utsavāḥ = and festivities are; sampravartante = happening now; rāma-śoka-ardite pure = that the city is anguished in distress about Rāma.
Men wearing colorful garlands are not going out and festivities are not happening now that the city is anguished in distress about Rāma.
