Chapter 20: Rāma Kills the Fourteen Rākṣasas
Text 3.20.17
तानि शूलानि काकुत्स्थः समस्तानि चतुर्दश।
तावद्भिरेव चिच्छेद शरैः काञ्चनभूषणैः॥
tāni śūlāni kākutsthaḥ samastāni catur-daśa
tāvadbhir eva ciccheda śaraiḥ kāñcana-bhūṣaṇaiḥ
tāni = of those; śūlāni = spears; kākutsthaḥ = the descendant of Kakutstha; samastāni = all; catuḥ-daśa = fourteen; tāvadbhiḥ eva = with that many; ciccheda = cut; śaraiḥ = arrows; kāñcana-bhūṣaṇaiḥ = decorated with gold.
The descendant of Kakutstha cut all of those fourteen spears with that many arrows decorated with gold.
