tataḥ paścān mahā-tejā nārācān sūrya-sannibhān
jagrāha parama-kruddhaś catur-daśa śilā-śitān
tataḥ paścāt = and then; mahā-tejāḥ = Rāma, whose prowess was great; nārācān = nārāca arrows; sūrya-sannibhān = shining like the sun; jagrāha = took; parama-kruddhaḥ = in extreme anger; catuḥ-daśa = fourteen; śilā-śitān = that were sharp enough to pierce stones.
And then in extreme anger, Rāma, whose prowess was great, took fourteen nārāca arrows shining like the sun that were sharp enough to pierce stones.1
Nārāca arrows don’t have arrowheads.1
[Authorities] also state that śilā-śitān refers to [arrows] sharpened on a grindstone.
