Chapter 20: Rāma Kills the Fourteen Rākṣasas
Text 3.20.25
उपगम्य खरं सा तु किंचित्संशुष्कशोणिता।
पपात पुनरेवार्ता सनिर्यासेव सल्लकी॥
upagamya kharaṁ sā tu kiñcit-saṁśuṣka-śoṇitā
papāta punar evārtā saniryāseva sallakī
upagamya = approaching; kharam = Khara; sā tu = she; kiñcit-saṁśuṣka-śoṇitā = her blood was slightly dried up; papāta = fell [on the ground]; punaḥ eva = again; ārtā = she was distressed; sa-niryāsā = that exudes its juice upon being cut; iva = like; sallakī = the sallakī creeper.
Approaching Khara, she again fell [on the ground]. Her blood was slightly dried up. She was distressed like the sallakī creeper that exudes its juice upon being cut.
