Chapter 21: Śūrpaṇakhā Impels Khara to Attack Rāma
Text 3.21.13
एते च निहता भूमौ रामेण निशितैः शरैः।
येऽपि मे पदवीं प्राप्ता राक्षसाः पिशिताशनाः॥
ete ca nihatā bhūmau rāmeṇa niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ
ye ’pi me padavīṁ prāptā rākṣasāḥ piśitāśanāḥ
ete ca = these; nihatāḥ = has slain and threw them; bhūmau = on the ground; rāmeṇa = Rāma; niśitaiḥ = with sharp; śaraiḥ = arrows; ye api = who; me padavīm prāptāḥ = followed my path; rākṣasāḥ = rākṣasas; piśita-aśanāḥ = meat-eating.
With sharp arrows, Rāma has slain these meat-eating rākṣasas who followed my path and threw them on the ground.
