मयि ते यद्यनुक्रोशो यदि रक्षस्सुतेषु च।
रामेण यदि ते शक्तिस्तेजो वास्ति निशाचर।
दण्डकारण्यनिलयं जहि राक्षसकण्टकम्॥
mayi te yady anukrośo yadi rakṣaḥ-suteṣu ca
rāmeṇa yadi te śaktis tejo vāsti niśācara
daṇḍakāraṇya-nilayaṁ jahi rākṣasa-kaṇṭakam
mayi = upon me; te = you; yadi = if; anukrośaḥ = compassion; yadi = if; rakṣaḥ-suteṣu = [you have compassion] upon the rākṣasas’ sons; ca = and; rāmeṇa = possessed by Rāma; yadi = if; te = you [have]; śaktiḥ = the same power; tejaḥ = prowess; vā = or; asti = have; niśācara = O night-ranger; daṇḍakāraṇya-nilayam = that resident of Daṇḍakāraṇya; jahi = kill; rākṣasa-kaṇṭakam = who obstructs the rākṣasas.
O night-ranger, if you have compassion upon me, if [you have compassion] upon the rākṣasas’ sons and if you [have] the same power or prowess possessed by Rāma, kill that resident of Daṇḍakāraṇya who obstructs the rākṣasas.1
