समीयुश्च महात्मानो युद्धदर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः।
ऋषयो देवगन्धर्वाः सिद्धाश्च सह चारणैः।
समेत्य चोचुः सहितास्तेऽन्योन्यं पुण्यकर्मणः॥
samīyuś ca mahātmāno yuddha-darśana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ
ṛṣayo deva-gandharvāḥ siddhāś ca saha cāraṇaiḥ
sametya cocuḥ sahitās te ’nyonyaṁ puṇya-karmaṇaḥ
samīyuḥ = arrived in groups; ca = as well as; mahā-ātmānaḥ = great souls; yuddha-darśana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ = wanting to see the war; ṛṣayaḥ = ṛṣis; deva-gandharvāḥ = devas, gandharvas; siddhāḥ ca = siddhas; saha = and; cāraṇaiḥ = cāraṇas; sametya ca = having gotten together; ūcuḥ = spoke [as follows]; sahitāḥ = and who were intent on the welfare [of the world]; te = they; anyonyam = to one another; puṇya-karmaṇaḥ = who engaged in pious acts.
Wanting to see the war, great souls who engaged in pious acts and who were intent on the welfare [of the world] as well as ṛṣis, devas, gandharvas, siddhas and cāraṇas arrived in groups.1 Having gotten together, they spoke to one another [as follows].
