Chapter 23: Khara Disregards Evil Omens on the Way
Text 3.23.28-29

स्वस्ति गोब्राह्मणेभ्यस्तु लोकानां येऽभिसङ्गताः।
जयतां राघवः सङ्ख्ये पौलस्त्यान्रजनीचरान्।
चक्रहस्तो यथा युद्धे सर्वानसुरपुङ्गवान्॥

एतच्चान्यच्च बहुशो ब्रुवाणाः परमर्षयः।
जातकौतूहलास्तत्र विमानस्थाश्च देवताः।
ददृशुर्वाहिनीं तेषां राक्षसानां गतायुषाम्॥

svasti go-brāhmaṇebhyas tu lokānāṁ ye ’bhisaṅgatāḥ
jayatāṁ rāghavaḥ saṅkhye paulastyān rajanīcarān
cakra-hasto yathā yuddhe sarvān asura-puṅgavān

etac cānyac ca bahuśo bruvāṇāḥ parama-ṛṣayaḥ
jāta-kautūhalās tatra vimānasthāś ca devatāḥ
dadṛśur vāhinīṁ teṣāṁ rākṣasānāṁ gata-āyuṣām

svasti = may there be auspiciousness; go-brāhmaṇebhyaḥ tu = unto the cows, brāhmaṇas; lokānām = to the worlds; ye = and those who; abhisaṅgatāḥ = are favorable; jayatām = may be victorious; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; saṅkhye = in the battle; paulastyān = descending from Pulastya; rajanīcarān = with the rākṣasas; cakra-hastaḥ = the disc-wielding Viṣṇu; yathā = just as; yuddhe = [is victorious] in battle; sarvān = with all; asura-puṅgavān = the powerful asuras; etat ca = so; anyat = more; ca = and; bahuśaḥ = a lot; bruvāṇāḥ = while speaking; parama-ṛṣayaḥ = great sages; jāta-kautūhalāḥ = the curious; tatra = there; vimānasthāḥ = in their airplanes; ca = as well as; devatāḥ = the celestials; dadṛśuḥ = saw; vāhinīm = the army; teṣām = of the; rākṣasānām = rākṣasas; gata-āyuṣām = whose lives were about to depart.

“May there be auspiciousness unto the cows, brāhmaṇas and those who are favorable to the worlds! May Rāghava be victorious in the battle with the rākṣasas descending from Pulastya, just as the disc-wielding Viṣṇu [is victorious] in battle with all the powerful asuras.” While speaking this and a lot more, the curious great sages there as well as the celestials in their airplanes saw the army of the rākṣasas whose lives were about to depart.
