रूपमप्रतिमं तस्य रामस्याक्लिष्टकर्मणः।
बभूव रूपं क्रुद्धस्य रुद्रस्येव पिनाकिनः॥
rūpam apratimaṁ tasya rāmasyākliṣṭa-karmaṇaḥ
babhūva rūpaṁ kruddhasya rudrasyeva pinākinaḥ
rūpam = form; apratimam = the incomparable; tasya rāmasya = of Rāma; akliṣṭa-karmaṇaḥ = whose dealings never pain anyone; babhūva = became; rūpam = to the form; kruddhasya = of the angry; rudrasya = Rudra; iva = similar; pinākinaḥ = who holds a trident.
The incomparable form of Rāma, whose dealings never pain anyone, became similar to the form of the angry Rudra who holds a trident.[1
1 Lord Śrī Rāma began to resemble Rudra, that is, Śiva in his fierce form at the time of universal dissolution. This is an indication that just as Śiva destroys everything in the universe, Lord Rāma was determined to destroy every rākṣasa there. Technical note: na kliṣṭaṁ kasmaicit khedapradaṁ karma vyāpāro yasya tasya rāmasya apratimam upamā-rahitam. jagat-saṁharaṇārtham udyuktasya pralaya-kāla-rudrasya rūpaṁ yadvat tadvat kharādi-vadhārtham udyuktasya rāmasya rūpam api babhūvety arthaḥ.
NOTE. This indicates that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is always victorious. Indeed, Prabhupāda remarks:
Among the victorious, He is victory. He is the splendor of the splendid. Among the enterprising and industrious, He is the most enterprising, the most industrious. (Bhagavad-gītā 10.36 purport
