Chapter 25: Śrī Rāma’s Battle with Khara’s Army
Text 3.25.5
स तेषां यातुधानानां मध्ये रथगतः खरः।
बभूव मध्ये ताराणां लोहिताङ्ग इवोदितः॥
sa teṣāṁ yātudhānānāṁ madhye ratha-gataḥ kharaḥ
babhūva madhye tārāṇāṁ lohitāṅga ivoditaḥ
saḥ1 teṣām = the; yātudhānānām = rākṣasas; madhye = amidst; ratha-gataḥ = standing on his chariot; kharaḥ = Khara; babhūva = resembled; madhye = amidst; tārāṇām = the stars; lohitāṅgaḥ = the planet Mars; iva2 uditaḥ = that had risen.
Standing on his chariot amidst the rākṣasas, Khara resembled the planet Mars that had risen amidst the stars.
