Chapter 25: Śrī Rāma’s Battle with Khara’s Army
Text 3.25.33
तद्बभूवाद्भुतं युद्धं तुमुलं रोमहर्षणम्।
रामस्य च महाघोरं पुनस्तेषां च रक्षसाम्॥
tad babhūvādbhutaṁ yuddhaṁ tumulaṁ roma-harṣaṇam
rāmasya ca mahā-ghoraṁ punas teṣāṁ ca rakṣasām
tat = it; babhūva = became; adbhutam = astonishing [to watch]; yuddham = the battle; tumulam = was intense; roma-harṣaṇam = and therefore it caused the [onlookers’] hair to stand on end; rāmasya ca = between Śrī Rāma; mahā-ghoram = and very terrible; punaḥ = again; teṣām = the; ca = and; rakṣasām = rākṣasas.
The battle between Śrī Rāma and the rākṣasas was intense and very terrible, and therefore it caused the [onlookers’] hair to stand on end. It again became astonishing [to watch].
