Chapter 25: Śrī Rāma’s Battle with Khara’s Army
Text 3.25.40
शरान्धकारमाकाशमावृणोत्सदिवाकरम्।
बभूवावस्थितो रामः प्रवमन्निव ताञ्शरान्॥
śarāndhakāram ākāśam āvṛṇot sadivākaram
babhūvāvasthito rāmaḥ pravamann iva tāñ śarān
śara-andhakāram = the darkness generated by the arrows; ākāśam = the sky; āvṛṇot = covered over; sa-divākaram = the sun and; babhūva avasthitaḥ = just stand [there]; rāmaḥ = Rāma; pravaman = while discharging; iva = appeared to; tān = those; śarān = arrows.
The darkness generated by the arrows covered over the sun and the sky. Rāma appeared to just stand [there] while discharging those arrows.
