Chapter 30: Khara Destroyed
Text 3.30.4
यत्त्वयोक्तं विनष्टानामहमश्रुप्रमार्जनम्।
राक्षसानां करोमीति मिथ्या तदपि ते वचः॥
yat tvayoktaṁ vinaṣṭānām aham aśru-pramārjanam
rākṣasānāṁ karomīti mithyā tad api te vacaḥ
yat tvayā uktam = uttered by you; vinaṣṭānām = who had been destroyed; aham = I; aśru-pramārjanam = wipe the tears; rākṣasānām = of the rākṣasas; karomi iti = will; mithyā = [has been rendered] false; tat = that; api = also; te = of yours; vacaḥ = declaration.
That declaration of yours uttered by you—“I will wipe the tears of the rākṣasas who had been destroyed”—[has also been rendered] false.
