Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 30: Khara Destroyed
Text 3.30.7
पांसुरूषितसर्वाङ्गः स्रस्तन्यस्तभुजद्वयः।
स्वप्स्यसे गां समालिङ्ग्य दुर्लभां प्रमदामिव॥
pāṁsu-rūṣita-sarvāṅgaḥ srasta-nyasta-bhuja-dvayaḥ
svapsyase gāṁ samāliṅgya durlabhāṁ pramadām iva
pāṁsu-rūṣita-sarva-aṅgaḥ = your body will be covered all over with dust; srasta-nyasta-bhuja-dvayaḥ = and your arms would be severed and cast away; svapsyase = you are going to sleep [forever]; gām = the earth; samāliṅgya = embracing; durlabhām = [she is] an unattainable; pramadām = and enchanting lady; iva = as if.
Embracing the earth as if [she is] an unattainable and enchanting lady, you are going to sleep [forever]. Your body will be covered all over with dust and your arms would be severed and cast away.
“Embracing the earth” indicates that Khara would fall headlong [on the ground].
