Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 30: Khara Destroyed
Text 3.30.30
एतदर्थं महातेजा महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः।
शरभङ्गाश्रमं पुण्यमाजगाम पुरंदरः॥
etad-arthaṁ mahā-tejā mahendraḥ pāka-śāsanaḥ
śarabhaṅgāśramaṁ puṇyam ājagāma purandaraḥ
etat-artham = it is for this very purpose that; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; mahā-indraḥ = the great king; pāka-śāsanaḥ = the killer of the demon Pāka; śarabhaṅga-āśramam = āśrama of Śarabhaṅga; puṇyam = to the pious; ājagāma = came; purandaraḥ = Purandara.
It is for this very purpose that the great king Purandara, who possessed great prowess and who had killed the demon Pāka, came to the pious āśrama of Śarabhaṅga.
“It is for this very purpose” means “It is for this very purpose of having Khara killed.”
The author demonstrates this in the next verse.
