Chapter 35: Rāvaṇa Goes to Meet Mārīca Again
Text 3.35.39
तं स्वयं पूजयित्वा तु भोजनेनोदकेन च।
अर्थोपहितया वाचा मारीचो वाक्यमब्रवीत्॥
taṁ svayaṁ pūjayitvā tu bhojanenodakena ca
arthopahitayā vācā mārīco vākyam abravīt
tam = him; svayam = personally; pūjayitvā tu = having honored; bhojanena = with food; udakena = water; ca = and; artha-upahitayā = using especially significant; vācā = words; mārīcaḥ = Mārīca; vākyam = the following; abravīt = spoke.
Having personally honored him with food and water, Mārīca spoke the following, using especially significant words.
