Chapter 38: Mārīca Instructs Rāvaṇa
Text 3.38.4
अयं रक्षतु मां रामः पर्वकाले समाहितः।
मारीचान्मे भयं घोरं समुत्पन्नं नरेश्वर॥
ayaṁ rakṣatu māṁ rāmaḥ parva-kāle samāhitaḥ
mārīcān me bhayaṁ ghoraṁ samutpannaṁ nareśvara
ayam = here; rakṣatu = should protect; mām = me; rāmaḥ = Rāma; parva-kāle = at the time of a fire sacrifice; samāhitaḥ = attentively; mārīcāt = of Mārīca; me bhayam ghoram samutpannam = I am terribly frightened; nara-īśvara = O king.
Rāma here should attentively protect me at the time of a fire sacrifice.1 O king, I am terribly frightened of Mārīca!

“At the time of a fire sacrifice” means “at the time of a fire sacrifice when [soma] is extracted.”
