Chapter 38: Mārīca Instructs Rāvaṇa

इत्येवमुक्तो धर्मात्मा राजा दशरथस्तदा।
प्रत्युवाच महाभागं विश्वामित्रं महामुनिम्॥
ity evam ukto dharmātmā rājā daśarathas tadā
pratyuvāca mahā-bhāgaṁ viśvāmitraṁ mahā-munim
iti evam = thus; uktaḥ = upon being addressed; dharma-ātmā = of a dhārmika mind; rājā = King; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; tadā pratyuvāca = replied [as follows]; mahā-bhāgam = to the most fortunate; viśvāmitram = Viśvāmitra; mahā-munim = great sage.
Upon being addressed thus, King Daśaratha of a dhārmika mind replied to the most fortunate great sage Viśvāmitra [as follows].
