Chapter 38: Mārīca Instructs Rāvaṇa
Text 3.38.22
एवमस्मि तदा मुक्तः सहायास्तु निपातिताः।
अकृतास्त्रेण बालेन रामेणाक्लिष्टकर्मणा॥
evam asmi tadā muktaḥ sahāyās tu nipātitāḥ
akṛtāstreṇa bālena rāmeṇākliṣṭa-karmaṇā
evam = thus; asmi tadā muktaḥ = I was released; sahāyāḥ = my associates; tu = but; nipātitāḥ = were slain; akṛta-astreṇa = who had not been trained in weapons; bālena = by the boy; rāmeṇa = Rāma; akliṣṭa-karmaṇā = and whose activities were indefatigable.
Thus I was released but my associates were slain by the boy Rāma who had not been trained in weapons and whose activities were indefatigable.
