Text 3.39.14
शरेण मुक्तो रामस्य कथंचित्प्राप्य जीवितम्।
इह प्रव्राजितो युक्तस्तापसोह समाहितः॥
śareṇa mukto rāmasya kathañcit prāpya jīvitam
iha pravrājito yuktas tāpaso ha samāhitaḥ
śareṇa = from arrow; muktaḥ = having escaped; rāmasya = Rāma’s; kathañcit = somehow; prāpya = I got and; jīvitam = my life; iha = to this place; pravrājitaḥ = retired; yuktaḥ = my conduct is [now] proper; tāpasaḥ ha = I am fixed in austerities; samāhitaḥ = and I have controlled my mind.
Having escaped from Rāma’s arrow, I somehow got my life and retired to this place. My conduct is [now] proper, I am fixed in austerities and I have controlled my mind.
Pravrājitaḥ (“retired”) indicates that Mārīca had [now] abandoned all evil activities.
