Chapter 52: Rāvaṇa Again Abducts Sītā
Text 3.52.2
सा तु ताराधिप मुखी रावणेन समीक्ष्य तम्।
गृध्रराजं विनिहतं विललाप सुदुःखिता॥
sā tu tārādhipa-mukhī rāvaṇena samīkṣya tam
gṛdhra-rājaṁ vinihataṁ vilalāpa suduḥkhitā
sā tu = Sītā-devī; tārā-adhipa-mukhī = whose face resembled the moon; rāvaṇena = by Rāvaṇa; samīkṣya = upon seeing; tam = him; gṛdhra-rājam = the king of vultures; vinihatam = who had been struck down; vilalāpa = and lamented [for him]; suduḥkhitā = became much aggrieved.
Upon seeing the king of vultures who had been struck down by Rāvaṇa, Sītā-devī, whose face resembled the moon, became much aggrieved and lamented [for him].1
