Chapter 52: Rāvaṇa Again Abducts Sītā
Text 3.52.11
त्राहि मामद्य काकुत्स्थ लक्ष्मणेति वराङ्गना।
सुसन्त्रस्ता समाक्रन्दच्छृण्वतां तु यथान्तिके॥
trāhi mām adya kākutstha lakṣmaṇeti varāṅganā
susantrastā samākrandac chṛṇvatāṁ tu yathāntike
trāhi = deliver; mām = me; adya = today; kākutstha = O Kākutstha; lakṣmaṇa = and Lakṣmaṇa; iti = thus; vara-aṅganā = the beautiful lady; susantrastā = in great fear; samākrandat = cried out; śṛṇvatām tu = of those hearing them; yathā = like [people who lament]; antike = in the presence.
Like [people who lament] in the presence of those hearing them, the beautiful lady cried out in great fear, “Deliver me today, O Kākutstha and Lakṣmaṇa!”
