Text 3.52.15
प्रधर्षितायां सीतायां बभूव सचराचरम्।
जगत्सर्वममर्यादं तमसान्धेन संवृतम्॥
pradharṣitāyāṁ sītāyāṁ babhūva sacarācaram
jagat sarvam amaryādaṁ tamasāndhena saṁvṛtam
pradharṣitāyām = was assaulted [in this way]; sītāyām = when Sītā; babhūva = went; sacara-acaram = including the animate and inanimate creation; jagat = world; sarvam = the whole; amaryādam = out of order; tamasā andhena = in the darkness of ignorance; saṁvṛtam = and was bewildered.
When Sītā was assaulted [in this way], the whole world including the animate and inanimate creation went out of order and was bewildered in the darkness of ignorance.
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: amaryādaṁ bhinna-sattva-prakṛtikam.
Amaryādam (“out of order”) indicates that the creatures didn’t function according to their respective natures.1
