Chapter 52: Rāvaṇa Again Abducts Sītā
Text 3.52.43
जलप्रपातास्रमुखाः शृङ्गैरुच्छ्रितबाहवः।
सीतायां ह्रियमाणायां विक्रोशन्तीव पर्वताः॥
jala-prapātāsra-mukhāḥ śṛṅgair ucchrita-bāhavaḥ
sītāyāṁ hriyamāṇāyāṁ vikrośantīva parvatāḥ
jala-prapāta-asra-mukhāḥ = their faces appeared to be filled with tears in the form of waterfalls; śṛṅgaiḥ = and their peaks; ucchrita-bāhavaḥ = [looked like] their uplifted arms; sītāyām = while Sītā; hriyamāṇāyām = was being carried away; vikrośanti iva = appeared to cry; parvatāḥ = the mountains.
While Sītā was being carried away, the mountains appeared to cry. Their faces appeared to be filled with tears in the form of their waterfalls and their peaks [looked like] their uplifted arms.
