Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 52: Rāvaṇa Again Abducts Sītā
Text 3.52.47-48

supravepita-gātrāś ca babhūvur vana-devatāḥ
vikrośantīṁ dṛḍhaṁ sītāṁ dṛṣṭvā duḥkhaṁ tathā gatām

tāṁ tu lakṣmaṇa rāmeti krośantīṁ madhura-svaram
avekṣamāṇāṁ bahuśo vaidehīṁ dharaṇī-talam

supravepita-gātrāḥ ca babhūvuḥ = the bodies trembled; vana-devatāḥ = of the presiding deities of the forest; vikrośantīm = uttering a loud cry; dṛḍham = great; sītām = Sītā; dṛṣṭvā = upon seeing; duḥkham = distress; tathā gatām = in such; tām = at her; tu = however; lakṣmaṇa = Lakṣmaṇa; rāma iti = Rāma; krośantīm = was crying out; madhura-svaram = in [her naturally] sweet voice; avekṣamāṇām = while looking; bahuṣaḥ = repeatedly; vaidehīm = Vaidehī; dharaṇī-talam = at the ground;

The bodies of the presiding deities of the forest trembled upon seeing Sītā in such great distress. Vaidehī was crying out in [her naturally] sweet voice, “Lakṣmaṇa! Rāma!” while repeatedly looking at the ground.

“Such great distress” indicates that Sītā-devī was distressed to such an extent that it cannot be expressed in speech. She repeatedly looked at the ground hoping that Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa [would find out and save her]. This is implied here.
