Chapter 63: Rāma’s Pain of Separation from Sītā
Text 3.62.18

इतीव तं शोकविधेयदेहं रामं विसंज्ञं विलपन्तमेवम्।
उवाच सौमित्रिरदीनसत्त्वो न्याये स्थितः कालयुतं च वाक्यम्॥

itīva taṁ śoka-vidheya-dehaṁ
rāmaṁ visaṁjñaṁ vilapantam evaṁ
uvāca saumitrir adīna-sattvo
nyāye sthitaḥ kāla-yutaṁ ca vākyam

iti iva = in this manner; tam = to Him; śoka-vidheya-deham = His body was overcome by sorrow; rāmam = when Śrī Rāma; visaṁjñam = senselessly; vilapantam = lamented; evam = the following; uvāca = spoke; saumitriḥ = the son of Sumitrā; adīna-sattvaḥ = whose fortitude was undiminished; nyāye sthitaḥ = and who was reasonable; kāla-yutam ca = that were appropriate at that time; vākyam = words.

When Śrī Rāma senselessly lamented in this manner, His body was overcome by sorrow. The son of Sumitrā, whose fortitude was undiminished and who was reasonable, spoke the following words to Him that were appropriate at that time.
