Chapter 72: Kabandha Tells Rāma About Sugrīva
Text 3.72.3
तच्छरीरं कबन्धस्य घृतपिण्डोपमं महत्।
मेदसा पच्यमानस्य मन्दं दहति पावकः॥
tac charīraṁ kabandhasya ghṛta-piṇḍopamaṁ mahat
medasā pacyamānasya mandaṁ dahati pāvakaḥ
tat = the; śarīram = body; kabandhasya = of Kabandha; ghṛta-piṇḍa-upamam = and resembled a lump of ghee; mahat = huge; medasā = with fat; pacyamānasya = which was plump; mandam = slowly; dahati = burnt; pāvakaḥ = the fire.
The fire slowly burnt the body of Kabandha which was plump with fat and resembled a huge lump of ghee.
