Chapter 72: Kabandha Tells Rāma About Sugrīva
Text 3.72.4
स विधूय चितामाशु विधूमोऽग्निरिवोत्थितः।
अरजे वाससी बिभ्रन्मालां दिव्यां महाबलः॥
sa vidhūya citām āśu vidhūmo ’gnir ivotthitaḥ
araje vāsasī bibhran mālāṁ divyāṁ mahā-balaḥ
saḥ = the [dānava]; vidhūya = pushing through; citām = the pyre; āśu = quickly; vidhūmaḥ = a smokeless; agniḥ = flame; iva = like; utthitaḥ = rose; araje = dust-free; vāsasī = clothes; bibhrat = wearing; mālām = garland; divyām = and a celestial; mahā-balaḥ = of great strength.
Quickly pushing through the pyre, the [dānava] of great strength rose like a smokeless flame, wearing dust-free clothes and a celestial garland.
