गच्छ शीघ्रमितो राम सुग्रीवं तं महाबलम्।
वयस्यं तं कुरु क्षिप्रमितो गत्वाद्य राघव।
अद्रोहाय समागम्य दीप्यमाने विभावसौ॥

vayasyaṁ taṁ kuru kṣipram ito gatvādya rāghava
adrohāya samāgamya dīpyamāne vibhāvasau
gaccha = [and] go; śīghram = quickly; itaḥ = [leave] this place; rāma = Rāma; sugrīvam = Sugrīva; tam = to the; mahā-balam = greatly powerful; vayasyam = friends [with him]; tam = him; kuru = and make; kṣipram = quickly; itaḥ = from here; gatvā = go; adya = today; rāghava = O Rāghava; adrohāya = to prevent treachery; samāgamya = meet; dīpyamāne = in the presence of the burning; vibhāvasau = fire.
Rāma, quickly [leave] this place [and] go to the greatly powerful Sugrīva. O Rāghava, quickly go from here, meet him and make friends [with him] today in the presence of the burning fire to prevent treachery.
“In the presence of the burning fire” indicates that [Śrī Rāmacandra should make friends with Sugrīva] while keeping fire as a witness [to their pact of friendship].
