Chapter 72: Kabandha Tells Rāma About Sugrīva
Text 3.72.19
शक्तौ ह्यद्य युवां कर्तुं कार्यं तस्य चिकीर्षितम्।
कृतार्थो वाकृतार्थो वा कृत्यं तव करिष्यति॥
śaktau hy adya yuvāṁ kartuṁ kāryaṁ tasya cikīrṣitam
kṛtārtho vākṛtārtho vā kṛtyaṁ tava kariṣyati
śaktau = are capable; hi = actually; adya = right now; yuvām = both of You; kartum kāryam = of fulfilling; tasya = his; cikīrṣitam = mission; kṛta-arthaḥ vā = whether his purpose is fulfilled; akṛta-arthaḥ = not; vā = or; kṛtyam = mission; tava = Your; kariṣyati = he will fulfill.
Right now, both of You are actually capable of fulfilling his mission. Whether his purpose is fulfilled or not, he will fulfill Your mission.
