Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.35
तत्रापि शिशुनागानामाक्रन्दः श्रूयते महान्।
क्रीडतां राम पम्पायां मतङ्गारण्यवासिनाम्॥
tatrāpi śiśu-nāgānām ākrandaḥ śrūyate mahān
krīḍatāṁ rāma pampāyāṁ mataṅgāraṇyavāsinām
tatra = there; api = too; śiśu-nāgānām = of baby elephants; ākrandaḥ = noise; śrūyate = can be heard; mahān = the loud; krīḍatām = while at play; rāma = O Rāma; pampāyām = by the Pampā; mataṅga-araṇyavāsinām = residing in the forest of Mataṅga Ṛṣi.
O Rāma, the loud noise of baby elephants residing in the forest of Mataṅga Ṛṣi by the Pampā while at play can be heard there too.
This verse states that Ṛśyamūka was close to Pampā.
