Chapter 75: Śrī Rāmacandra Reaches Pampā

सप्तानां च समुद्राणामेषु तीर्थेषु लक्ष्मण।
उपस्पृष्टं च विधिवत्पितरश्चापि तर्पिताः॥
saptānāṁ ca samudrāṇām eṣu tīrtheṣu lakṣmaṇa
upaspṛṣṭaṁ ca vidhivat pitaraś cāpi tarpitāḥ
saptānām ca = of the seven; samudrāṇām = oceans; eṣu = in the; tīrtheṣu = waters; lakṣmaṇa = Lakṣmaṇa; upaspṛṣṭam ca = We have bathed; vidhivat = in accordance with the scriptural regulations; pitaraḥ = Our forefathers; ca api = and; tarpitāḥ = gratified.
Lakṣmaṇa, in accordance with the scriptural regulations, We have bathed in the waters of the seven oceans and gratified Our forefathers.
This verse indicates that when one goes to a holy place, he should bathe and perform [auspicious activities] such as śrāddha.
